Karachi: Pakistan Coast Guards recovered drugs worth billions of rupees from a speedboat in an operation at sea.
According to the spokesman, Pakistan Coast Guards, while acting on a secret information about drug smuggling by sea from Jiwani area of Gwadar, recovered a shipment of drugs from a speedboat.
The accused managed to escape after seeing the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) boat by leaving their speedboat on the seashore, during the checking of which 833 kg of alti hashish and 42 kg of ice were recovered.
The global market value of the seized drugs is estimated to be $20.86 million (approximately over Rs. 5 billion).
According to the spokesman, Pakistan Coast Guards are always engaged in preventing all kinds of smuggling including drugs and will continue to play their role in stabilizing the country’s economy.
