This process is going on with great success in many government and private institutions of Pakistan, but the biggest obstacles in this process are lack of basic facilities, limited thinking about technology, education and training of people and human behavior.
Starting with our common people, the true spirit of digital transformation has not been practically adopted in very large enterprises. This is a reality that requires us to do everything now on a vigorous, organized and urgent basis.
In most institutions of Pakistan, very few young people are working in decision-making positions, so older people are reluctant to use technology due to the generation gap, while on the other hand, the youth generation and children mobile phones, Social media apps and internet are largely aware but they are not using it properly. Therefore, parents in homes, teachers and students in schools and employees in the workplace should be made aware of its importance, proper use and effects.
A lot of work is being done in this regard. The Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) has submitted a 50-page economic report titled “Recommendations for Digital Transformation in Pakistan” to the Government of Pakistan in 2022.
In one of its chapters, “Impacts of Digital Transformation”, it is stated that “in a country with a population of 225 million, of which more than 38 percent are under the age of 25, Pakistan plays an effective role in this.” is in a good position to pay. Pakistan’s role in the global digital economy is crucial in the next decade.
The digital transformation revolution is expected to be a game changer for the country. Endless prospects for growth in the economy and in all sectors are bright. If this change is fully exploited, the digital revolution can happen.
Economic value in Pakistan 2030 can generate productivity gains. Also, with already proven effects of revenue growth, cost savings, creation of new industries and growth in industrial sectors and GDP, embracing the digital world has become more important now. To improve the country, ensure a post-pandemic future and its end, and improve the economic conditions of the common man.”
President Dr. Arif Alvi said in a meeting with a digital technology delegation earlier this year, “Creating an enabling environment for the development and growth of digital transformation technology is central to Pakistan’s vision.”
