Sri Lanka has announced a power grid linking agreement with India within two months.
In this regard, the Sri Lankan delegate says that they are starting negotiations with India on power grid linking and renewal of trade agreements. The agreement will be signed in two months.
An important part of Sri Lanka’s economic recovery plan depends on the development of renewable energy resources, from which electricity can be transferred to South India through a cross-border transmission cable.
The two countries had restarted talks on power grid linking last year. India is Sri Lanka’s largest trading partner.
