Pakistani students should submit applications for education and scholarships in Italy, Consul General

Italian Consul General in Karachi, Danilo Guerdanella, said that he was deeply impressed by the hospitality and generosity of the Pakistani people. He expressed his interest in opening gateways for Pakistani students and said that when the applications for education in Italy are reviewed, very few applications are received from female students, the students can go ahead and submit applications for scholarships. He insisted on doing it.

He said that Italian universities offer programs related to almost all fields including tourism, social work, hospitality for Pakistani students.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar titled “Italy: A Destination for Education and Research” held at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, University of Karachi in collaboration with the University of Arts and Social Sciences, Karachi and the Italian Consulate.

Dean of College of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Karachi, Professor Dr. Shaista Tabasim, while delivering the welcome speech, said that the purpose of the said seminar is to provide students from various fields in Italian educational institutions, as well as scholarships available for teachers and academicians associated with education and research. To create awareness about, to highlight the importance of studying in Italy, to make the participants aware of the numerous opportunities available in Italy, and especially to provide admission procedures and information to students waiting for admissions and scholarships in Italian universities, Italian universities are now among the top universities recognized globally.

Dr. Shaista Tabassum further praised the openness and diversity of Italian culture and society and said that Italy is known for its rich culture, history, beautiful scenery but it is home to many eminent scholars, architects, scientists, philosophers and researchers. There is also a house. He appreciated the efforts of Consulate of Italy in opening new opportunities for Pakistani students. Dr. Shaista Tabsum informed that the University of Karachi has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Naples, and a Memorandum of Understanding is in progress with the University of Udine in Italy.

University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi highlighted the importance of learning the Italian language and said that learning the language is not only about the language but also about understanding its culture and values.

During the seminar, students, professors and doctors who graduated from Italian universities informed the participants about their experiences and expressed their views. He stressed the need and importance of Pakistani students applying to Italian universities and encouraged students to take advantage of these opportunities as studying in Italian universities can be a game changer in their lives. A presentation was also given by the coordinator of the Italian Consulate General in Karachi about the official portal of Italian universities and how and under which category students can apply for admission and scholarships.
