Quetta: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar visited Quetta along with Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and attended the meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee.
During the Apex Committee meeting, the forum was briefed on the revised National Action Plan, law enforcement agencies, anti-trafficking and anti-narcotics operations in Balochistan.
The participants of the meeting were also briefed about the security of foreign nationals working on CPEC/Non-CPEC/Private projects and repatriation of illegal aliens.
The meeting reviewed the progress on measures to regularize foreign exchange, and SIFC initiatives in Balochistan.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the progress made by the Balochistan government and assured full cooperation from the federal government in this regard.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that socio-economic development of Balochistan is indispensable to ensure the peace and development of the province.
During the meeting, Arch Chief Syed Asim Munir said that the Army will provide full cooperation with LEA and other government departments for operations against illegal activities with full force to prevent the looting of resources and the activities caused by these activities. Economic losses to the country can be prevented.
He said that the steps taken by SIFC at the federal level should benefit the people of the region in every province.
The Army Chief said that Balochistan is rich in mines and minerals and development in this sector will generate economic activities and employment opportunities for the people of the region.
He further said that besides human resource development, investment in agriculture and IT should also be focused.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized the need for coordination between all relevant departments for the impact of SIFC initiatives.
The participants of the meeting reiterated that the state institutions, government departments and people are united for the development and prosperity of the province.
Earlier, Prime Minister and Army Chief were welcomed by Chief Minister Balochistan and Commander Balochistan Corps.
