The International Monetary Fund (IMF) called for the leasing or sale of government-owned enterprises, including utility stores.
According to sources, IMF has suggested that utility stores should be handed over to the private sector, BISP budget should be increased.

The caretaker government did not respond to the IMF on privatization or liquidation of utility stores.
