Pakistani herbal hybrid seeds were sent into space on June 22 last year in collaboration between Pakistan and China, which have been brought back to earth after several months of experiments.
In this regard, China’s leading scientist and the chief scientist of the World Health Organization and a member of the Advisory Panel on Traditional Medicine, Prof. Dr. Liu Zinman, called it a historic event and said that hybrid seeds for short trips to space allowed scientists to develop new varieties. Will help to prepare.
Speaking to scientists at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi, Professor Liu Zinman said that hybrid seeds will help scientists not only to develop new varieties, but also to provide food to the world’s growing population. It will also help in the discovery of cures for diseases.
The Chinese scientist said that there is a long history of traditional medicine in Pakistan and China. In China, natural and traditional Chinese medicines are still used, while in Pakistan, traditional Greek medicines are still being used. Expressing his positive expectations regarding the cooperation between China and Pakistan, he said that cooperation in science and technology is actually an important aspect of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
It should be noted that the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) sent Pakistani herbal seeds into space in June last year and returned them safely to Earth in December after a six-month space flight.
