Hyderabad: In the World Cup 2023, New Zealand defeated the Netherlands by 99 runs.

In the sixth match of the mega event played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad, the Netherlands team was bowled out for 223 runs in the 47th over.

Colin Ackerman scored 69 runs for the Netherlands. Captain Stuart Edwards 30, Cybrand Engelbrecht 29, Teja Nidamanuru 21, Bess de Liday 18, Max O’Dowd 16, Vikramjeet Singh 12, Aryan Dutt 11, Ryan Klein 8 and van der Merwe got out by scoring 1 runs while Wayne McRae scored 4 runs. Kar remained not out.

For New Zealand, Mitchell Santner took 5 wickets, Matt Henry took 3 wickets and Richan Runder took 1 wicket.

Earlier, New Zealand scored 322 runs in the allotted 50 overs while batting first at the invitation of Netherlands.

The Kiwis got off to a good start and lost the first wicket on 67, then the second wicket on 144. Will Young 70, captain Tom Latham 53 and Richan Ravindra 51 runs were the outstanding batsmen.

Aryan Dutt, Paul van McCren, Roelof took two wickets each while one wicket went to Boss de Ley.

It should be noted that New Zealand defeated the defending champions England by 9 wickets in their opening match while the Netherlands team was defeated by Pakistan.

The Kiwi team is at the first place with 4 points while the Netherlands is at the eighth place due to defeat.
