Lahore: A gang stealing electricity meters for ransom became active in the provincial capital. In this regard, a video of the incident also came out.

Another incident of meter theft has come to light in Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, in which a person can be seen stealing the meter in the closed circuit footage.

According to sources, the meter thief later returned the meter after taking a ransom of Rs 15,000 from the house owner. In the footage of the recent incident, the action of the meter thief can be clearly seen. After the incidents of meter theft, the citizens were forced to pay ransom to the meter thief instead of being pushed by the police or LESCO offices.

According to the police, earlier such incidents have been reported in Iqbal Town, Garden Town as well.
