Babar Azam named ODI Cricketer of the Year for the second consecutive time

National cricket team captain Babar Azam won the International Cricket Council Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The ICC in its statement said that in 2022, the star batsman played only 9 matches in which he scored 679 runs with 3 centuries and 5 fifties at an average of 84.87.

Babar Azam played a number of brilliant innings in ODI cricket during 2022, including a memorable knock of 114 against Australia in Lahore at the end of March.

After losing the series opener against a tough team like the Aussies, a win was a must-win for Pakistan to stay in the series and Babar Azam delivered a brilliant innings when his country needed him the most. .

It should be noted that Babar Azam was able to win the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award last year as well.

Last year, he played only 6 ODIs in which he scored 405 runs at an average of 67.50 after which he was declared eligible for the award.
