PCB considering holding international matches at Abbottabad Stadium

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has started considering holding international matches at the Abbottabad Stadium.

The third meeting of the management committee of Pakistan Cricket Board was held at the National Cricket Academy Lahore under the chairmanship of Chairman Zaka Ashraf, one of the 10 members Mustafa Ramde participated in the meeting online.

The members were briefed on the Central Contracts of Men’s Cricketers, the Committee appreciated the satisfaction of this and the efforts of Zaka Ashraf, whose personal interest led to an amicable settlement between the board and the cricketers.

The management committee members unanimously approved a 10 per cent increase in the budget of the player welfare scheme in recognition of the services rendered by former cricketers to the game.

In the meeting, consideration was given to holding international matches in Abbottabad in the future and in this context the plan for the construction of a new pavilion was presented in the meeting which was appreciated and approved by all the members.

The meeting was also updated by the Infrastructure Department on various proposals presented in the previous meeting, including installation of solar panels in all stadiums.

The participants were also briefed on the renovation of the National Cricket Academy, installation of fans in the general enclosures of the stadiums. The change of digital screen in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and National Stadium Karachi was also reported.
