Karachi: There was no reduction in the incidents of harassment of women walking on the road in Shahr Qaid.
In the video, a man riding a motorcycle can be seen making obscene gestures in front of the students, the obscene person was chasing the van of the students who were going home from the university and making obscene gestures.
After the video of the incident went viral, Additional IG Karachi Khadim Randh took notice and asked for a report from the concerned officers. Also, when contacted, SSP Central Faisal Abdullah Chachadar said that the incident of harassment of female students has happened before the well-known shopping center and sports complex located on Rashid Minhas Road.
He said that according to preliminary information, the video is a few days old and further investigation is being done while trying to contact the affected student.
He said that if the affected student does not contact the police, a case will be registered against the government and the accused will be traced and arrested soon.
It should be noted that earlier incidents of harassment of women have been reported in North Karachi Sector 11B, Federal B Area Block 17, Golestan Johar, but despite the clear faces of the accused in these incidents, the police have failed to arrest the accused, while Baldia Town and 2 suspects involved in harassing women were arrested in Orangi Town.
