The year 2023 belonged to Shahrukh Khan in Bollywood, his two films Jawan and Pathan made records of earnings in a year.
According to Indian media reports, Jawan has finally surpassed Pathan by doing a business of 1,550 crores worldwide.
Shahrukh’s ‘Jawan’ first surpassed his own film ‘Pathan’ which was released at the beginning of this year at the Indian box office and then beat the global gross.
Jawan, directed by Atlee, continues to break records at the box office, now the film’s earnings have crossed 155 crores worldwide.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan had earned 155 crores worldwide, but Jaawan crossed the milestone only on its 23rd day, becoming the highest grossing film of the year.
Jaawan’s box office collection is still ongoing, the film has collected 705 crores in India and 350 crores worldwide and has become the fifth highest grossing Indian film.
Aamir Khan’s film Dangal tops this list, which has collected 1,968 crores.
Jawaan surpassed first Ghadar 2 and then Pathan in terms of earnings in India and is now fast moving towards the 600 crore club of Hindi-only earnings.
Shah Rukh Khan is the only actor in Bollywood, whose 2 films in a row have earned more than 1 thousand crores, while this year his third film Dinky is also ready for release.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dinky stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles, which will release on Christmas this year.
