Directed to make 10% children in private schools follow the law of free education

Karachi: The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh has asked for a report while directing 10% children in private schools to follow the law of free education.

According to the spokesman, caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir drew the attention of the Education Secretary to ‘The Sindh Right of Children’s Free and Compulsory Education Act’ and said that under the law, every private school, educational institution, its total number of children. 10 percent will provide free education to children.

Sindh Chief Minister said that this law has been in force since 2013 but school education failed to implement it. He codified Sections 2 A and B of Chapter 4 Section 10 of the Act and said that according to these two sections, private schools shall provide free education to children of 10% of their total admissions from class one to classes onwards. All the private schools are openly violating this law since 2013.

Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh directed the Secretary School Education to implement this law within a week and submit a report. Chief Minister Sindh further said in his letter that strict legal action should be taken against the educational institutions that do not follow this.
