The leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf Asad Umar has said that he has apologized to the Election Commission and submitted a reply in the matter of insulting the Election Commission.
In response, Asad Umar said that I apologize for my statements, I should be pardoned and the proceedings should be ended.
The text of his reply was that the Election Commission is not a court or a tribunal, so it cannot act for contempt, the case related to it is being heard in the Sindh High Court.
Under the contempt of court law, the person accused of contempt cannot hear the case.
In response, it was said that the material presented regarding insulting the Election Commission does not come under the definition of insult, the Election Commission was only focusing on the scrutiny of PTI.
In response, Asad Umar said that the Election Commission has not taken any action against any other political party, this Election Commission is biased in the matter of PTI.
The reply said that the affected party has the right to raise their voice if the constitutional body discriminates, the fact-finding report of the ECP is wrong, baseless and unfair.
Asad Umar said that any party leader has the right to give his opinion about a constitutional institution, he did not say anything baseless or unfair about the Election Commission.
He said that the libel commission case is baseless without scope and in violation of the constitution, it should be disposed of. If the commission thinks that I have insulted, I leave myself at the mercy of the commission.
