Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan called for a consultative meeting after the meeting between Election Commission and Governor Punjab.
According to the sources, after the meeting between Secretary Election Commission and Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman, a meeting was held in Zaman Park Lahore under the chairmanship of Imran Khan, in which the legal and constitutional aspects were reviewed.
Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Farrukh Habib, Musrat Jamshed Cheema and others participated in the meeting.
According to the sources, during the meeting, the strategy after not giving the election date by the Election Commission and Punjab Governor was considered.
Sources further said that the meeting also discussed the option of President Dr. Arif Alvi playing the constitutional role.
According to the sources, Imran Khan also informed the participants of the meeting about the telephonic communication with the President.
Imran Khan said that the Election Commission and the Governor are deliberately delaying the date of the election, they are committing violation of the Constitution.
Today, talks were held between Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman and the Election Commission on the issue of elections in Punjab.
The Governor of Punjab clarified in the meeting with the Secretary Election Commission that the court decision requires interpretation for which they are taking the legal route.
Balighur Rahman has prepared to file an inter-court appeal in this regard, the application is also ready, which will be filed in a day or two.
