Mogadishu: A truck loaded with explosives rammed into a security checkpoint in Somalia, killing 20 people and injuring 45.
According to the World News Agency, a security checkpoint in Somalia signaled the truck to stop, but it tried to break through the barrier. A security vehicle was also coming after this truck.
As soon as the truck was surrounded by the check post personnel from the front and the security personnel vehicle in pursuit from the rear. The truck was destroyed by a loud explosion.

The explosion was so powerful that the nearby citizens were also hit. Among the dead and injured are women and children, while the majority are military personnel.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, but government forces have stepped up operations against al-Shabaab and this blast may be a response to that.
Most of the attacks on the government and security forces in Somalia have been carried out by al-Shabaab, which claims to be affiliated with Daesh and controls many parts of the country except for Dar al-Hakut.
