MDCAT exam cheating case, JIT prepares report

Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the JIT has made significant progress in its investigation into the issue of Bluetooth copying in the MD CAT examination.

The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed regarding cheating in the MDCAT exams has sent the investigation report to the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The report revealed that the accused Zafar Mahmood Khattak and his brother who is a government employee are the ringleaders of an organized network of copying while the network also includes employees of various government agencies and this network has been active for a long time.

According to the JIT, last year also the network sent the candidates in the MD CAT and DIgram exams through Bluetooth copying, a similar device was used in the exams last year as well, which costs Rs 35 thousand and it was released. It is available domestically.

It has been stated in the report that candidates are charged Rs 20 to 35 lakhs to pass the test, the rate of 190 marks in MD CAT was fixed at Rs 35 lakhs, while the rate of 170 marks was fixed at Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 25 lakhs for 180 marks.

According to the JIT, the headquarters of the network is in Kirk district, the copycats had also established a local network in the districts where the test centers are located.

The JIT has recommended that laws be tightened to prevent duplication and arrest the culprits.
