Islamabad: After NAB cases were restored, significant progress was made and the records of all cases were presented in the accountability court of Islamabad.

The registrar’s office sent the list of cases to the accountability court. Judge Muhammad Bashir said that today the record of NAB cases is coming by truckloads.

The staff of Accountability Court No. 2 and 3 who were posted in other courts were called back to duty. Judges of accountability court number two and three will also be appointed. At present, only Judge Muhammad Bashir is serving in Accountability Court Number One.

The court asked the NAB prosecutor to inform about the nature of the cases of private and public office holders and government employees.

NAB Prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi replied that we will present the records of all the cases in the court, the decision of the Supreme Court must be ensured.

The accountability court directed the registrar accountability court to review the records.

Apart from this, a request to restore 22 corruption references was also filed in the accountability courts of Rawalpindi.

Prosecutor NAB said in the petition that the Supreme Court should declare the NAB law amendments null and void, so 22 corruption cases should be reopened, and the cases of the four accountability courts should be restored.

The cases include ex-law secretary, MNA Lal Band case, Mudaraba looting, housing societies corruption case.

Prosecutor NAB says that the cases which were transferred to other civil courts are also being recalled, if the case is restored, the bails of the accused will be canceled and they will go back to Adiala Jail.

On the other hand, about 160 references were returned in accountability courts in Peshawar and NAB sent back references to 8 accountability courts established in Peshawar.

NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has written a letter to the Registrar of Accountability Courts and said that the reference is being returned to the courts as per the decision of the Supreme Court on September 15. The decision of the Supreme Court was asked to be implemented within seven days.

It should be noted that after the new amendment in NAB rules in 2022, references from accountability courts were sent back to NAB. After the Supreme Court annulled the amendment, all the cases returned to the courts.
