Arshad Sharif murder case decided to enter the office, court order issued

Islamabad: Arshad Sharif’s murder case proceedings were stopped in the trial court and it was decided to enter the case. In this regard, the court issued an order.

District and Sessions Courts, Islamabad, Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah issued a written order of the previous hearing, according to which the Arshad Sharif murder case proceedings in the trial court were stopped. Due to non-appearance and lack of interest of the witnesses, the file of the proceedings has been sent to the record room.

According to the detailed decision, on March 16, the court received a challan of Section 512 of the Penal Code in the Arshad Sharif murder case. On April 5, the court sent a summons notice to the witnesses to record their statements. Several times witnesses were called to record their statements but none appeared.

There is no interest in recording the statements of the witnesses in the Arshad Sharif murder case subject to the court decision. 15 times the prosecution was given an opportunity to submit evidence. On the previous hearing, notice was given to the prosecution as to why the file should not be sent to the record room. According to the prosecutor, private and public witnesses are not coming to the court to record their statements.

The court in its order said that considering the situation, the Arshad Sharif murder case proceedings are stopped. The prosecution may file an application for a new date, considering the appearance of witnesses. The court directed to enter the Arshad Sharif murder case file in the office till further orders.
