Decision to install automatic systems to protect aircraft from birds at airports

Karachi: It has been decided to install automatic systems to protect planes from birds at domestic airports.

Civil Aviation has decided to install modern automated systems to protect aircraft from birds at 3 major international airports of the country. In this regard, CAA has invited applications while the tenders will be opened on September 28.

In the first phase, modern automated systems will be installed at Islamabad International Airport, Jinnah International Airport Karachi and Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore to make airplanes and air travel safe from birds.

According to the sources, the birds are attracted towards the airport due to dirt in the areas around the Karachi and Lahore airports. Bird population growth is a challenge for safe air travel.
