According to Express News, on September 6, a person named Amanullah filed a report in Sarband police station that unknown armed kidnappers in a motorcycle took Syed Gul and Hakeem aka Sohail hostage at gunpoint and later rescued the two hostages. A ransom of Rs 10 crore was demanded while videos and pictures of the hostages in chains are being received on a daily basis.
Taking notice of the incident, under the direction of CCPO Peshawar Syed Ashfaq Anwar and SSP Operation Kashif Aftab Abbasi, a special team consisting of DSP Pashtakhara Sher Afzal Khan and SHO Sarband Kaleem Khan under the supervision of SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq. was formed.
The team conducted a joint operation with the Khyber Police based on modern scientific methods and intelligence and rescued the two hostages who were chained in a dilapidated house. A transport merchant is also involved.
The ringleader confessed his guilt in the initial investigation and identified the entire network. A special team headed by SP Kent was formed to arrest the network.
