Chief Secretary Sindh Sohail Rajput has said that purchase of wheat will be started in Sindh from March 1.
Chief Secretary Sindh said during the briefing that 300 thrift markets will be set up in Karachi during Ramadan.
He said that the amount of fine will be increased by amending the Price Control Act.
Sohail Rajput further said that strict action will be taken on selling expensive items under the amendment.
He said that 6 months imprisonment along with a fine up to 5 lakh rupees will be imposed and the items will be seized and auctioned at the official price.
Chief Secretary Sindh also said in the briefing that the shop will be kept sealed until the fine is paid, the Prize Magistrate will also be given powers under Section 188.
He said that 17 grade section officers will also be given the powers of price control magistrates, control rooms will be established at the taluk level in the province.
Sohail Rajput said that thrift markets will be set up by the government in every tehsil of the province.
