California: A feature to react to updates in channels has been rolled out for testing in the Android beta version of messaging application WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Channels is a one-way messaging tool in which admins can send updates regardless of a user’s response. But WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to react to these updates.
As reported by WhatsApp Beta Info, WhatsApp has offered beta users a number of emojis that they can use to express appreciation, sadness, surprise or humor to the update.
This new feature is currently under development and is expected to be released soon. However, the company has not given a final date for the launch of the feature.
Earlier this feature was available to limited users when it was seen in the beta version of the app.
A note released by WhatsApp on its support page said that people who don’t follow the channel but watch it will also be able to send emojis on the update. Users will also be able to see details of the reaction to the update by tapping on the emojis feature at the bottom.
