Punishment of slander – Express Urdu

Slandering someone is a very serious sin and haram. A tradition means:

“Whoever says (accuses, slanders, or falsely attributes) something about someone that is not true, then Allah will ) will put him in the casket of hell (he will be deserving of it in the hereafter) even if he desists from his actions (in this world). Musnad Ahmad, Sunan Abi Dawud, Mishkwat al-Masabih)

To ascribe evil in a man which is not in him, or to attribute to him an evil deed which he has not done, is called slander and slander. There have been great revelations about slandering a Muslim or making baseless accusations against him, so one should refrain from this act and seek forgiveness from the one who has been slandered, so as not to be caught in the Hereafter. If a person accuses or slanders someone without research and evidence, then it is a major sin according to Sharia law.

Here we have the disposition of society to spread accusations and slanders rapidly, in which they feel a special pleasure, because the devil incites them to this work and in vain words and deeds. According to Shariat, this practice is very bad, undesirable and dehumanizing.

In this matter, the order of Shariat is categorical and clear that if someone brings you any news, investigate it, lest you do something out of ignorance that will cause you regret later. We should not follow what we do not know, indeed! The ear, the eye and the heart will all be questioned.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, Meaning: “Do not speak ill of Muslims and do not lie behind their faults. Whoever is aware of their faults, Allah will be aware of his faults, and whoever If they find him, they will humiliate him inside his house” (Abu Dawud).

If slander is related to someone’s honor and reputation, it is a painful punishment for them in this world and the hereafter. The mood is created, which is prohibited in the Holy Qur’an, because of spreading slander and slander, backbiting also occurs.

Described as eating the flesh of one’s dead brother, this bad practice causes a loss of trust and makes people suspicious, as if slander is a psychological disease that leads to countless sins. Therefore, it should be avoided as much as possible.

Nowadays, social media has made its place more than print and electronic media, earlier the delivery of news depended on the will of the editor, who used to check, examine and publish thoughtfully what is true and for the society. True and what not, but social media has freed the writer to write whatever he wants and throw mud at whoever he wants, then the discussion starts and such and such bad words and such inappropriate points are posted. That Al-Aman and Al-Hafiz.

In the Holy Qur’an, the Almighty says:

“Those who want to talk about iniquity among the believers, for them is a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter, Allah knows and you do not know.” (Al-Noor)

In Shariat, the rules of testimony in the case of defamation are strict. It is narrated by Abu Dawud Sharif that whoever said something about someone that was not true, then Allah will put him in the pit of Hell.

The result of these verses and traditions is that no one can slander anyone on the basis of suspicion. can be given, and no word should be spread about anyone without Shariah evidence. The intention of Sharia law is that no one should accuse or slander anyone without Shariah evidence, if he does so, he should also be punished by the government, even if this punishment can be given after claiming defamation.

Since the real issue is with the person defamed, if he does not make any claim against the defamer, the defamer will be immune from punishment. Allah, the Exalted, instructed that it is not permissible to take out of one’s tongue what has been heard without research. This proved how Muslims should react after hearing such news.

A Muslim is urged to have good faith towards another Muslim, accusing a person without any Shariah evidence is slander. It is a grave sin to popularize such indecent news where there is no evidence, which is witnessed daily on social media these days.

This should also be kept in mind here, the verses and commands related to slander in the Holy Quran are related to a special event, but the commands described in it are general, because except for some specific verses, the commandments are of great importance. They are not special but the order is general. Therefore, the rulings that were revealed due to Afiq incident will also be common in the chapter of slander and slander.

A word of slander and a trifle can lead to disastrous results. Slandering someone is the cause of the displeasure of Allah, His Messenger (peace be upon him) and the close angels. A slanderer is considered undesirable and worthless in society.

This tragic incident should be enough to warn those people, who these days, with the use of knowledge and progress on social media, attach pictures of a man with any unmarried woman, put songs on it. The audience enjoys, it spreads further, without the slightest concern as to what will happen to it.

Meaning: “And whoever commits a sin or wrongs his life, then asks Allah for forgiveness, he will find Allah Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

(Surat al-Nisa)

In the light of this verse, we should all repent, knowingly or unknowingly we have committed this sin, then we should sincerely ask for forgiveness from Allah Almighty and try not to be the cause of spreading such things in the future.
