A video of a mysterious light in the sky before the devastating earthquake in Morocco was caught on camera.
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Morocco on September 8, which has been described as the deadliest earthquake to hit the country in decades. According to reports so far, 3,000 people have died and around 5,500 have been injured in the earthquake.
Experts believe that the earthquake was caused by the African tectonic plate moving northward and colliding with the Eurasian plate, but before the earthquake, some people in Morocco saw mysterious lights in the sky that were also caught on camera. . In a clip shared on X, a blue light can be seen emerging in the sky.
According to experts, these lights are rare but they are called ‘earthquake lights’. Earthquake lights are different from the usual light bolts you might see during an earthquake. They travel from the ground to the cloud and are triggered by electrical charges associated with seismic activity within the ground.
According to the US Geological Survey, earthquake flashes can come in many forms. These lights can present themselves as lightning, balls of light, and constant flashes. Experts believe that this light is caused by the movement of plate tectonics.
