Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is likely to be approved to release Rs 14 billion to continue operations.
According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, there is a possibility of delaying the payment of 260 billion rupees debt owed by the national airline. This loan is guaranteed by the caretaker government.
It should be noted that PIA had demanded Rs 22 billion 80 crore from the Ministry of Finance for financial operations.
On the other hand, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has restored all the bank accounts of national airline PIA.
FBR had frozen PIA’s bank accounts for non-payment of federal excise duty.
PIA was facing financial difficulties due to freezing of bank accounts.
Freezing of bank accounts delayed the release of August salaries to employees.
