A Turkish business group has produced a report on the cost of earthquake damage in Turkey and Syria, where relief efforts are ongoing after the earthquake.
According to the report received from Ankara, the damage caused by the earthquake can be estimated up to 84 billion dollars.
The report states that the reconstruction of thousands of damaged buildings will cost more than 70 billion dollars, while the loss of Turkey’s national income due to the earthquake is estimated to be more than 10 billion dollars.
According to the report, the loss of working days in the country due to the earthquake is more than 2 billion dollars. The main expenditure is on reconstruction of housing, transmission lines and infrastructure.
According to the report, the shelter needs of millions of homeless people are also included in the expenses.
