Quetta: The abducted football players from Dera Bugti area of Balochistan have not been recovered yet.
Six footballers who were going to Sibi to play the CM Gold Cup were abducted by unknown persons from Dera Bugti, which was confirmed at the government level on September 9.
Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti, while confirming the abduction of the football players, said that the footballers who were going to Sibi to play the CM Gold Cup Qualifiers have been abducted from Johnny Beatty area.
6 football players who were kidnapped on Saturday have not been recovered yet. Deputy Commissioner Dera Bugti said that search operations are on for quick and safe recovery of the hostages, hopefully they will be among us soon.
Protests for the recovery of abducted football players from Dera Bugti took place in Sui for the second day, attended by tribal elders and civil society representatives. The demonstration was led by District Council Chairman Vadira Ghulam Nabi and Izzatullah Bugti.
The sources of the interior department said that the operations of the security forces are continuing to recover the players.
