Islamabad: On the arrest of Shireen Mazari, the contempt of court case against IG Islamabad was set for hearing.
Despite the court order, the Islamabad High Court fixed the contempt of court case against IG Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan for the arrest of Dr. Shireen Mazari on September 28.
The IG has submitted an unconditional apology in the Islamabad case. A decision will be taken at the next hearing on whether to approve the pardon of IG Islamabad or to proceed with the case. The case will be heard by Islamabad High Court Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb on September 28.
It should be noted that the court had stopped the police from arresting Shireen Mazari, while Shireen Mazari was arrested despite the court order in May.
