iPads, computer RAMs and other items were found in the recovered goods
Karachi: Laptops, iPhones and other items worth crores of rupees were confiscated from passengers coming from Dubai.
Pakistan Customs confiscated goods worth Rs 6.18 lakh from 4 passengers coming from Dubai in a major operation at Jinnah Terminal Arrival. Airblue flight PA 111 arrived in Karachi along with the passenger consignment.
27 laptops, 5 kilos of cosmetics, 36 iPhones, 37 watches, 65 iPads were confiscated from passengers. Apart from this, 1250 computer RAMs, 472 cigarette cartons, 59 Apple Pencils, 97 AirPods and 21 MacBooks have been recovered.
While detaining the passengers, one of the passengers introduced himself as a former Member of the National Assembly, which turned out to be false. A case has been registered against the arrested passengers and remand has been obtained. The protocol for the detained passengers was arranged by Azhar Alimi, Superintendent of Customs, who is in-charge of the HRD department of the Model Customs Collectorate Airport.
According to Customs officials, the smuggling of foreign goods was detected in the scanning of the goods based on suspicion. Customs constable Ashiq Hussain was in charge of the protocol. It should be noted that even before this foreign liquor has been recovered in Protocol under the supervision of soldier Ashiq Hussain.
