Karachi: A councilor of Jamaat-e-Islami was killed in Sarjani Town area of Shahr-e-Quaid by Kanda mafia operatives.
A councilor of Jamaat-e-Islami was killed in firing by Kanda mafia operatives near Faizan Ashiqan Rasool Mosque in Sector 4C of Sarjani area, while 2 people were injured due to gunshots and violence. The body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
According to the police, the victim was identified as 60-year-old Habib, while the injured Adnan Izhar, 42, is being provided medical aid. According to the preliminary investigation, the incident took place over a dispute over the amount of money charged for electricity in the houses.
Residents of the area present at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital said that the firing was done by Kanda mafia operatives. The residents of the area had asked the local officials belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami to help us arrange electricity meters in our houses and we were talking to them when Kanda mafia operatives reached there and said that We will receive the dowry money, on which they were told that we will not give the dowry money.
The residents of the area told the Kanda mafia operatives that we want to get electricity legally, on which the Kunda mafia operatives who came on motorcycles opened fire, as a result of which Councilor Habib was killed by a bullet in the chest. That he also injured several people by hitting the butt of the TT. After the incident, tension spread in the area, while the local residents became agitated.
