Karachi: It has been decided to curb street crimes and crack down on habitual criminals and the police have once again started strategizing in this regard.

In the first phase to crack down on criminals, Karachi Police has started preparing lists of accused involved in drug delivery, organized drug dens in the city, gangs involved in street crime and home robberies.

In the light of the information reports of the Special Branch, the lists of high-profile accused have been prepared, while the jail records of the accused involved in street crime are also being compiled.

According to the sources of Special Branch, based on intelligence reports, more than 55 big and 132 small groups of street crime have been identified in Shahr Quaid, which are involved in snatching and looting in different areas of the city. .

The Special Branch has described the slums as a safe haven for these accused and has also indicated the identification of these areas and a strong crackdown here.

Similarly, the law enforcement agencies have identified 8 groups involved in house robberies in posh areas of the city, these groups have also been jailed and released on bail.

These groups are involved in robberies in Defence, Clifton, Gulistan Johar, Gulshan Iqbal, North Nazimabad, North Karachi and other areas.

The Karachi Police has also started collecting the criminal records of the police stations in this regard, which contains all the details of the accused arrested in recent months.

The police have also identified the robbery of citizens leaving the airport and the White Corolla group, which is involved in major robberies in different areas of the city.

According to police sources, records of 3,100 accused have been collected from more than 100 police stations of the city, who are involved in robberies, robberies, and most of them have been jailed.

Police sources have claimed that IG Sindh Rifat Mukhtar Raja has asked for a detailed report on the causes of the unrest in the city of Quaid and the groups involved in it, in the light of which it will help in preventing street crimes in the city. .

Similarly, Caretaker Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Harith Nawaz has also given an indication for a comprehensive operation to prevent street crimes, robberies and other serious crimes in the city.
