Washington: The US State Department says the Cipher case is under constant review.
US State Department Spokesperson Vedant Patel said in a media briefing in Washington that the US is constantly monitoring the issue of ciphers that arose during the reign of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan, but will not discuss the specific issue.
Asked about the investigation by the Congress, the spokesperson said that the State Department consults with partners in the Congress on several issues.
Regarding the visa issue of Pakistani Americans, he said that it is a matter for the Pakistani consular to see and the US State Department has nothing to do with it.
In March 2021, former Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed in a rally that a cipher had been received by the United States asking for the removal of his party’s Tehreek-e-Insaaf government.
