An important meeting of the National Economic Council has been convened today, which will be chaired by Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.
According to the sources, projects worth 136 billion rupees are likely to be approved in the meeting.
The meeting will consider the release of funds for public health and governance projects, including physical planning, housing projects and projects to improve federal governance.
Sources say that the demand for funds will be reviewed by the concerned departments and institutions, the phase of releasing funds for the projects has been delayed.
With the sanction of funds, the deadline for completion of work on the projects is also likely to be released.
