Four people, including two Chinese nationals, were killed in an attack on a gold convoy in Congo.
According to Al Jazeera report, the ambush attack targeted a convoy of four vehicles belonging to “TSM” Mining, which was carrying gold from a site near the Kambi River in Fezi region of South Kivu province. .
A Fiji official said the attackers “stole the gold parcels and fled through the bush. The other two dead were a DRC soldier and a driver.”
Kalvindji said that three other people, including a Chinese, were injured in this attack. It should be noted that China is a major investor in Congo and has invested heavily in the mineral mining industry.
