Islamabad: The caretaker government has increased the levy rate on petrol and diesel, fulfilling another condition of the IMF.
According to the details, the caretaker government has increased the development levy on petrol to 60 rupees per liter, similarly the petroleum levy has been increased to 50 rupees per liter on diesel.
This year, 869 billion rupees will be collected from the public in the form of petroleum levy.
Sources say that the prices of petroleum products have been increased due to the increase in petroleum levy.

Earlier, the government increased the prices of petroleum products by Rs 18.44 per litre, petrol by Rs 14.91 per liter and high speed diesel by Rs 18.44 per litre. The new prices were implemented immediately.
The new prices announced by the government will remain in effect for the next fortnight and after the increase in prices, the price of petrol has increased from Rs 290.45 per liter to Rs 305.36 per liter while the price of high speed diesel has increased from Rs 293.40 per liter to Rs 311.84 per liter.
