Karachi: The transfer of powers to the elected local representatives in Shahr Qaid has once again gone sour, the Sindh government has once again extended the transition period.
According to the details, the formation of 25 towns of Karachi is continuously delayed because the Sindh government has issued instructions to the transition officers to do more work.
According to the notification issued by the Department of Local Government House and Town Planning under Section 155 of the Sindh Local Government Act 2013, following the instructions of Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh, Section Officer of the Secretary Government of Sindh, on the transition of 7 districts of Karachi into illegal DMCs. Yed was further extended.
Due to the extension of the transition period, the powers of the newly elected local administrators of 25 towns were again suspended. According to the notification, the transition period has been extended due to incorrect records. The notification will be applicable to Malir, Korangi, Central, West, South, Kemari, East and District Councils.
