Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his thoughts about the Tamil film industry.
Shah Rukh Khan attended the audio launch event of his new film ‘Jawan’ at Sai Ram Engineering College in Chennai yesterday.
He spoke on the occasion about his experience working with the Tamil film industry during the shooting of his film ‘Dil Se’.
“I realized very early on in my film career that Tamil Nadu is home to some of the best films and I was lucky to be friends with Mani Ratnam and Santhosh Sivan,” he said.
Shah Rukh Khan said that I came here to shoot for my film ‘Dil Se’ which was my first experience working with a Tamil film industry and then to shoot the song ‘Chhian Chhian’ with Kamal Haasan. Met and had the opportunity to work with them.
He said that working with Kamal Haasan in a film called ‘Hai Ram’ was the first and last time I spoke Tamil.
Shah Rukh Khan said that then a famous person like Rajinikanth acted in my film ‘Rao-One’ and I also became friends with him.
Appreciating the grand function organized for the audio launch of his film at Sai Ram Engineering College, he said, “I have never really attended such a function for a film in my life.
“Today I want to thank the Tamil film industry and all the college students who have traveled from far to reach here,” he said.
Shah Rukh Khan concluded by saying, “I would like to thank the extraordinary and world-class filmmakers of Tamil Nadu and the entire Tamil film industry for honoring me so much.”
It should be noted that Shah Khan’s action and thriller film ‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee, a well-known director of Tamil films, is scheduled to release on September 7 next month.
