Islamabad: The Chief Election Commissioner has said that the election schedule will be announced after the process of constituencies is completed by December 14.
According to the details, the Election Commission is consulting with the political parties on the upcoming general elections. The delegations of Awami National Party and Balochistan Awami Party met in the Election Commission today.
Talking to the delegation, the Chief Election Commissioner said that the Election Commission will complete the process of delimitation by December 14, we also intend to reduce the period of delimitation.
He said that the Election Commission will announce the election schedule as soon as the constituencies are completed.
The delegation of Awami National Party called the elections in 90 days as a constitutional requirement and demanded a timely election and said that the Election Commission should have consulted with the political parties before starting constituencies. Not much can be done.
ANP said that there was no need for new constituencies for the general elections, the Election Commission can only adjust the seats within the provinces, so the Election Commission should immediately announce the election date and election schedule.
According to the Election Commission announcement, the Balochistan Awami Party supported the decision of the Election Commission to redistribute constituencies. The BAP Party delegation said that the Election Commission should ensure clean and transparent constituencies and the holding of unfair elections. It can be done in 90 days.
The BAP delegation said that the population of Balochistan was reduced in the new census, so this census is not correct.
According to the announcement of the Election Commission, the Chief Election Commissioner assured the delegations of political parties to reduce the duration of constituencies and said that as soon as the constituencies are completed, the Election Commission will ensure the holding of general elections across the country. The holding of elections and elections will be conducted in a transparent manner as per the constitution and law.
