Petitions against the decisions of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to discharge 9 bails were fixed for hearing in the Islamabad High Court yesterday.
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri will conduct the hearing.
Chairman PTI’s sessions court granted 3 bails to 6 Anti-Terrorism Courts (ATC).
The PTI chairman filed 9 petitions in the High Court through lawyer Salman Safdar, contending that the trial court had dismissed the bails for non-compliance without considering the merits.
In the petition, it was prayed that the judgments of the trial courts should be set aside to fulfill the requirements of justice. The trial courts should be directed to hear the cases again and decide on the merits and stop the police from making arrests in these 9 cases.
