Karachi: Business leader Sharjeel Gopalani has revealed that death and grave threats are being given for protesting against Anko Electric.
Talking to the media, Sharjeel Gopalani, the merchant leader of Karachi Timber Market, said that even if I die accidentally, CEO K Electric will be responsible for it. If the government is unhappy, we close the business and leave the country.
Chairman Tradesmen Action Committee Sharjeel Gopalani said that he told the Prime Minister that he could not pay the additional electricity bills. Electricity is provided for six hours for the last one and a half years. A decision will be taken in the meeting on Tuesday regarding the strike or sit-in.
Sharjeel Goplani said that the timber market only pays sales tax of crores of rupees, we have diplomats from different countries of the world coming here for business. FIRs were registered against timber market traders including me.
Earlier, a delegation of MQM Pakistan led by Arshad Wahra reached Timber Market to express solidarity with Sharjeel Gopalani on the issue of K Electric and assured the business leader of full cooperation.
On this occasion, MQM leader Arshad Wahra said that Karachi should be handed over to the federation. The city is being treated like a stepmother. They are with the traders against the injustices of K Electric.
