The former governor of the US state of North Dakota was doing a radio program when his car was stolen from outside.
Former Governor Ed Schaeffer was hosting the Friday morning radio program ‘News and Views’.
Police called the radio station to see if they had a 2020 model Yukon SUV.
According to the foreign news agency, the thief stole the former governor’s car from the parking lot of the radio station and went to the police station and handed himself over to the authorities.
The former governor had gone to the radio station with the car key in it, the thief opened the car with the key and push button start and fled.
“My wife has been asking me for 31 years why you don’t lock the car,” Ed Schaeffer said.
