Secretary Energy has announced the abolition of the facility of electricity units for officers above grade 17.
In Islamabad, Energy Secretary Rashid Langadian told reporters during a briefing that the facility of power units to officers of grade 17 and above of discos and others is being terminated.
He said that the summary regarding decommissioning of power units will be prepared soon.
Rashid Langridian further said that electricity is being stolen, the power system is suffering from many faults and needs to be fixed.
According to the officials of the energy sector, the revolving debt of electricity is 2 thousand 300 billion rupees, while electricity of 250 billion is being stolen in the country.
According to the authorities, net metering is also a means of increasing the capacity payment, sometimes the net metering system will have to be abolished.
According to the energy sector officials, the main reason for the increase in the price of electricity is the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar.
