Islamabad: An application was filed against the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cipher case.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s petition filed in the Islamabad High Court has requested that the three orders of physical remand in the cipher case be annulled.
The PTI vice-chairman, in his petition, has maintained that the case was registered under the Official Secrets Act to target political vendetta.
In his application, he further wrote that ‘I neither took the cipher telegram nor disclosed its copy to any unauthorized person. Records prove that the cipher is with the Ministry of External Affairs.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi finally said that he had conveyed the message to the then Prime Minister as per the law while discharging his duties as Foreign Minister.
He requested that the Islamabad High Court cancel the order of physical remand and send me to jail on judicial remand.
