Amnesty International and human rights organizations wrote a joint letter to the G20 countries.

In the letter, the G20 countries have been asked to raise their voices against the Indian government’s human rights violations in Kashmir.

The letter states that it has been 4 years since India illegally revoked the special status of Kashmiris and freedom of expression and press are still banned in Occupied Kashmir.

The letter states that India has not taken any action against the military and police personnel who oppressed Kashmiris, imprisoning countless journalists and human rights activists in baseless cases.

Amnesty International and human rights organizations have written in the letter that the G20 countries should raise these issues with the Indian government under international law.

According to the text of the letter, India is organizing a global summit on environmental issues in September 2023, which will be attended by heads of state and representatives of the G20 countries.
