Quetta: Presidential award winning renowned Baloch folk singer Muhammad Bashir Baloch passed away after prolonged illness.
The world-renowned Balochi and Brohi singer Muhammad Bashir Baloch was suffering from kidney disease and died in Quetta after a long illness.
Muhammad Raza, the son of the famous singer, confirmed the news of his death and said that his father will be buried in the Akhund Baba cemetery near Kali Diba.
The Baloch folk artist sang many songs in Brohi language which are popular in Balochistan. He was also honored with the Presidential Award and received more or less 132 local and international awards.
However, in the last time, he complained to the government that the folk artist who brought the award from India has been left helpless in such a situation that he does not have two meals a day.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudous Bizenjo and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed grief and sorrow over the death of folk singer Bashir Baloch and prayed for forgiveness for the deceased.
