General Michael Corrella, head of the US military’s Central Command, visited Syria where he visited two camps housing thousands of people linked to ISIS fighters.
Thousands of families of Daesh fighters live in the two camps, Al-Hul and Al-Ruj.
There are 51,000 people in al-Hul camp, most of them women and children, the wives, widows and children of ISIS extremists.
Most of the people living in al-Hul camp are citizens of Syria and Iraq, but 8,000 women and children are also from 60 other countries of the world.
“We are trying to send the camp residents back to their countries,” said General Michael Korella.
Two-thirds of the population in both camps are children.
