Chinese officials say BRICS countries should promote contracts in local currencies.
At the BRICS meeting, a senior official of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the BRICS countries should work on local currency payment instruments and platforms.
He said that BRICS members should strengthen cooperation on cross-border payments.
The Chinese official said that China supports all 6 new accession countries, the BRICS expansion talks were transparent and diplomatic.
He said that the new BRICS members should have emerging economies, regional and strategic global influence.
He further said that Sino-Indian relations are very important despite the trade and border issues, there have been meetings and discussions between the leaders of the two countries on the BRICS sideline.
