Decision to upgrade three trains including Karakoram Express in 120 days

Lahore: Pakistan Railways has decided to upgrade Karakoram Express, Karachi Express and Pak Business Express within 120 days.

In the meeting chaired by Federal Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, it has been decided that Khyber Mail and Jafar Express will also be maintained better.

The meeting was told that the agreement to send 30,000 tonnes of rice to Iran per month by train is nearing completion while the dry ports are tasked to take the revenue to Rs 2 billion.

In the meeting, the progress on the restoration of the flood-affected Hark Bridge in Balochistan was also reviewed.

The Minister of Railways also directed to prepare a plan for the upgradation of Sabi and Taftan railway stations and to prepare a strategy to reduce the freight travel time between Quetta and Zahedan.
